Consumer Complaint: Who : Chase Levys and Holds Division When : XXXX XXXX, 2017 Why : Collection request from Michigan Department of Treasury for due income taxes What : Hold on Pre-paid credit card exceeded the amount available for hold – Chase Bank levies and division violated my rights by placing a hold on my prepaid credit card for {$250.00}, ignoring pending changes on the account and thereby causing an overdrawn balance. – Chase bank ‘s legal department repeatedly proclaimed that a deposit was made to the account in the amount of {$300.00} on XXXX XXXX, 2017, which in fact a transfer was n’t made until XXXX XXXX, 2017 ; a day after the levy processing. – After repeated calls over a period of 3 days trying to get Chase Levy and Holds Division to verify the correct date of the {$300.00} transfer ; I finally has to get my branch to conference in with them and verify that the transfer was in fact on XXXX XXXX, 2017 and NOT on XXXX XXXX, 2017.
– Chase still refuses to correct the account to reflect that the account did not have the {$250.00} they are holding for levy. – I further accused the of deliberately falsifying the account statement to justify the {$250.00} hold, and requested an investigation by senior management.
– Chase levy and hold department then came up with the excuse that a charge in the amount of {$330.00} was not paid ; but the bank branch confirmed that the charge in question had cleared on XXXX XXXX, 2017. Therefore ; the {$250.00} was clearly not available at the time the hold was placed.
– Chase Bank ‘s Levy & Holds department have repeatedly falsified information on the account, and flat out lied about the amount available during the processing of a levy on my account.
