Consumer Complaint: I have been told by XXXX XXXX XXXX, that I was given a Parent Plus loan in the amount of XXXX by Navient for my son ‘s college. I have letters from XXXX XXXX for XXXX and XXXX denying me the loan due to information on my credit report. I was told by Navient as I entered the time I was able to start paying back my loans that I should consolidate first. So I did that. I have been in repayment for almost a year under the public service payment plan as I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX. Due to the parent plus loan being consolidated I can not qualify for a payment I can afford. Each time I call someone they tell me to call someone else. I have always been prepared to repay my loan but now it is close to 178,000 because of interest and me being in forbearance for so long. I want to continue making payments but I ca n’t afford the XXXX per month, I am a XXXX! I did not qualify for the parent loan. I have letters proving that from XXXX XXXX. How did that loan go through. I feel it was deceptive practice and I need resolution so I can afford my monthly payments.
