Product: Other debt

Issue: False statements or representation

Consumer Consent Provided to Share Complaint: Consent provided

Consumer Complaint: Over the years I have made several attempts to address the debt being reported on my credit report with the company, National Credit Audit Corporation. In the disputes, filed online with each credit bureau and directly with the company, I challenged the validity of the debt itself and the amount of the debt the company and the original contract holder stated I owed. My many attempts were futile and never resulted in a correction of the information. I suffered, financially, due to this erroneous reporting. I can provide proof of the financial consequences to substantiate my claims, if needed. The company not only defamed me by reporting the inaccuracies but they violated my rights, as they are provided to me under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The Fair Credit Reporting Act 623 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) states Reporting information with actual knowledge of errors. A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. Furthermore, 623 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( B ) ( ii ) states Reporting information after notice and confirmation of errors. A person shall not furnish information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the information is, in fact, inaccurate.

For many years, the company erroneously reported that I owed a balance of {$5000.00} doing so caused irreparable damage to my credit score and ability to rent an apartment without providing an additional deposit that I, otherwise, would not have to. I would call the company and would be verbally assaulted. On one occasion the agent, XXXX, without authorization, pulled my report and told me you just dont like paying your bills ; you havent paid as she proceeded to name collections that were listed on my report. It has been the most exhausting experience. All the while, my rights as a consumer have been completely disregarded.

In XX/XX/XXXXafter many phone calls and hours of sitting on hold and being spoken to as if I were, subhuman by an agent by the name of XXXX, whom I would ALWAYS be transferred to despite me asking not to be transferred to her I got a different agent. We went over the charges and she admitted some were wrong. I also sent in proof that directly negated other charges.

On XX/XX/XXXX I came into contact with XXXX XXXX at the corporate office who was able to confirm the amounts were incorrect and submitted to have them adjusted.

On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email from XXXX XXXX in the corporate office who advised me that the revised amount of {$3400.00} will be reported to the credit bureaus although I disagreed with that amount they were no longer interested in further reviewing the many errors despite my having proven that there were at least {$1500.00} in errors, by their own account and admission.

I was never offered an apology for the many years of abuse and harassment. I was never offered an apology for the money I had to spend to on additional deposits or the detrimental effect their carelessness had on my credit scoring.

I have all of these things well documented in my email and can fax them in or forward them to a representative at the company, if needed.
