Consumer Complaint: I have 3 years of payments to XXXX ” XXXX XXXX XXXX on time without any late fees and my final payment paid in full. I was never in debt and never owed XXXX anything that I did n’t already pay. A debt collector by the name of Mercantile Adjustment Bureau has some how stolen my account number, full name, previous address as well as current address from XXXX and contacted me by mail stating that I owe XXXX dollars and after contacting XXXX no such debt was ever owed. This is not only a violation of the privacy policy of XXXX but also has affected my XXXX credit score which will be considered defamation of character. This is criminal and must be dealt with. Questions : 1. How did Mercantile Adjustment Bureau obtain my full name, current and previous address and the account number I have with XXXX? 2. If XXXX did n’t place my account with Mercantile Adjustment Bureau then how do they have all of my information? 3. If XXXX is saying this is a fraudulent claim then how can I seek full legal action against Mercantile Adjustment Bureau for theft of personal information, harassment and defamation of character?
