Consumer Complaint: Since XXXX of XXXX Portfolio Recovery Associates harassed me at all hours in attempt to collect an alleged credit card debt I owed. I asked them to verify the debt for over a year and they just sent me a print out of a statement alleging I owed {$1100.00}. As per FTC opinion letter from Attorney XXXX XXXX XXXX, creditors/collection agencies should be aware that a printout of a bill or itemized document does not constitute verification.

On XXXX XXXX, I decided to pay them the money to stop the harassment and delete the negative trade line off my credit reports. Till this day they continue to report more derogatory information on my credit reports such as reporting false account numbers and 120 day Iate payments. Given that PRA was acting in bad faith, and have not complied with federal and state laws, I have filed a Small Claims lawsuit on XXXX XXXX, XXXX against PRA seeking damages for Defamation, Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( including but not limited to Section 623-b ), and Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( including but not limited to Section 623-b ). We are set to appear at my local court house on XXXX XXXX, XXXX.
