Consumer Complaint: Was contacted by XXXX XXXX with Chaplain Financial Services who stated that I owed xxx amount of dollars and if I did not set up a payment arrangement or take a settlement offer of a lower amount then they would press charges against me. They also stated if I took the settlement offer then they would need to get my debit card information. The company is based in XXXX, GA but they use an international switchboard so that whatever state you live in is the phone number it will appear to be from. I found this out by calling the XXXX office and questioning why the number appeared to be from my state of residence, needless to say I was rudely hung up on. I had my mom send them an email requesting them not to contact me any further unless they can provide all original documentation of said matter. Also when I asked them to fax me documentation, they responded by saying their fax machine was down but they could email me the information. The only thing XXXX XXXX emailed me was a letter stating that I had paid the debt in full with a settlement agreement and that the matter was considered closed.
