Consumer Complaint: First off, I worked very hard to bring my student loans back to a good standing by following through with a repayment plan that got me out of default. I started this plan with XXXX inXX/XX/XXXX and made all of my payments on time. Apparently sometime in XXXX or XXXX XXXX my account was sent to Navient. I was first told by Navient that my payment would continue to be {$17.00} a month which XXXX had previously determined based on my ability to repay with my current income. I was ok with this and agreed to pay the {$17.00}. Fast forward a couple of months to the end of XXXX and Beginning of XX/XX/XXXX I received harassing phone calls and emails from Navient letting me know my payment was past due with a balance over {$500.00}. Shocked, I had no idea why this was so I tried to contact Navient. I was told that I was sent notification that I needed to submit my replacement plan paperwork to figure out what my income based plan would be. I never received that paperwork nor did I ever receive a letter of any kind from Navient. The only contacted me once and that was way back in XXXX XXXX and nothing was said to me about anything I needed to fill out. They gave me no warning when they jumped my payment from {$17.00} to over {$150.00}. I still do not know what my total is a month because I have never received any letter in the mail just threatening collection calls and a threatening email. I understand that Navient is currently in a lawsuit with the CFPB and let me tell you these people at Navient are crooks. I was never informed of my payment change nor was I ever informed that my repayment plan had to be resubmitted despite what they say. I never received any correspondence from Navient related to any reason why my payment would have skyrocketed. Navient are crooks and I will not stop until this issue is fixed nor will I make any payment because it is not a feasible payment. It is about {$130.00} too much a month for me to afford. I will choose food for my family before I pay any money to Navient. This company has and will continue to take advantage of the unfortunate until it is stopped and the CFPB is the only people looking out for the people ‘s rights.
