Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX, 2017 ATTENTION : FINANCIAL CONSUMER PROTECTION BUREAU First Associates U.S. Department of Education Loan Servicing XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX ACCOUNT NUMBER : [ ACCT # XXXX ] ATTN : First Associates U.S Education Loan Servicing department LOAN DISCHARGE APPLICATION : SCHOOL CLOSURE XXXX : XXXX XXXX XXXX OF XXXX, TN Dear FIRST ASSOCIATES & FCPB, First and foremost, I would like to bring attention to an interaction on XX/XX/XXXX where a concern was placed regarding potential forgiveness on the aforementioned account. I was met with a very unprofessional response from XXXX who told me, You can let it go to collections if you want. Whether you pay this or not, it is business as usual. This was an unnecessary comment. Not only have I been paying my minimum, I have been paying more than the minimum on my loan for over a year. I have never been late on a payment.
Secondly, I have been subject to a chain of predatory student lending. XXXX XXXX set up a business plan that pressured students into taking out high-cost private loans. Their method was to use in-house credit to meet gaps between the cost of tuition and the maximum federal student loan disbursement.
In conjunction with unsatisfactory education, educators, equipment, and communication, I am requesting full acquittal of the account.
Education was poor quality and was limited to partial demonstration of real world application.
The educators were not equipped to teach the classes they were teaching for in majority cases.
Equipment was outdated, running on older systems, including the need to save files to previous versions so compatibility issues did not occur.
The institution promised a continuing education in game design upon completion of the XXXX XXXX program. Less than one month prior to the completion of the XXXX program, I was informed the school was no longer continuing that academic direction and dropped the classes they prepared me for. There were no alternative options provided to me for that academic plan of study.
