Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX put on all 3 of my credit reports that I owed them {$1100.00} in XX/XX/XXXX, with XXXX XXXX, which I disputed, due to the fact that I have the XXXX signed receipt from XXXX XXXX showing they received their equipment back on XX/XX/XXXX, so it was removed, then XXXX XXXX put in back on all 3 credit reports the same {$1100.00} again with XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, which again, I disputed with my same records, and it was removed from all 3 again. Then XXXX XXXX put in on all 3 of my credit reports again for the {$1100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX with AFNI, by changing the original opened date to XX/XX/XXXX which on XX/XX/XXXX, I hired an attorney with the XXXX XXXX XXXX, in XXXX Texas, whom took my {$250.00} retainer, never had me sign anything, never followed up with me to this very day, phone number XXXX, which I sent them all the information I had showing it was an open and shut case of my rights with the FCRA, and when I was able to get ahold of them myself, I was told they sent AFNI a certified letter to asking them to remove the it from my XXXX credit report, as I believe that is the last one it still remains one, as it was removed from the other 2, but all that happened was AFNI lowered the amount to {$350.00}, saying it was now for prorated services I owed. From my understanding, once it was reported that I owed the {$1100.00} the first time, months after they had already received their equipment, which is what I was told the balance was for the first time, they broke the law? Then to do it again with XXXX XXXX, they broke the law again, just to do it a 3rd time, by changing the date the account was opened, which was almost a year after I have proof they had actually received their own equipment back, then broke it again, by just changing the amount and I have disputed this myself at least 15 times, and Ive paid for an attorney that has failed me as well. This has now been going on for over 2 and a half years of ruining my credit, my name, and stress you would not believe. I been on meds now because they just keep getting away with it. And when I called AFNI, they even told me that if it was at their collections agency, then they knew it had already been through the other 2, because they are the last of 3 collection agencies XXXX XXXX uses. I know I am not the only person this has happened to, I ‘m sure. But I dont know what else to do. Disputes dont help, when I have all the actual paperwork, and documents showing they received it before it was ever placed in collection the first time.
