Consumer Complaint: Approximately late XXXX, I had a door to door sales rep offer me an alternative energy provider. They had promised me a reduction in my electric bill and I had agreed to sign up. However, after the first month, it turned out that they were charging significantly higher rates than my previous supplier.
This, understandably upset me and I called the company to get an explanation. I was put on hold until my call was disconnected. I called back several times over the course of 60 days. to cancel my service and was put on hold until the call terminated. I was not given a chance to cancel my service and was forced to resume services with my previous supplier.
Currently they have hired a debt collection agency to come after me for a bill that I do not believe to be my responsibility. This company has provided substandard service and unfair business practices. They should not be allowed to mask their bullying tactics behind the age of the debt or through a XXXX party that has nothing to do with their actions.
