Consumer Complaint: I am writing to report a debt collection agency called Persolve LLC. They are located in California and their address is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, CA XXXX. Their phone number is XXXX.
They committed a fraudulent act that needs to be investigated and resolved immediately. On the first week of XXXX XXXX, I received a notice of levy under writ of execution in the amount of {$13000.00} from XXXX XXXX XXXX who I was banking with. The notice had the name of the agency collecting the debt, Persolve LLC vs my name. This caught me by surprise because this was the first time I received anything regarding this company collecting this debt. Immediately I went to the bank to see if this was even real and tried to withdraw my funds and discovered the bank had placed a hold on my account. In fact I even went to the police department to try to report the collection agency as fraudulent and they asked me to contact either the agency or the court.
I called Persolve LLC and spoke with XXXX XXXX who was apparently assigned to my case. He told me this was related to a credit card debt that I didnt even have and tried to convince me that I owed the money. In fact, he tried to ask me for additional payment even after the levy was in progress. Next I called the courthouse in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Room XXXX, XXXX, CA XXXX ) that was handling my case and they told me I was served. After I asked them when and where, they told me they sent the summons at an old address that I lived XXXX years ago so I never received any mail related to this case. Therefore, I never got a chance to dispute the case and the agency stole the money right out of my account.
This incident created a great amount of stress and anxiety and distrust in the judicial system and even the banking system. The agency consistently kept calling me for a few months after they stole my money. I wanted to pursue a lawsuit against the agency to get my money back but I did not have the funds to retain an attorney to fight my case. I am seeking your assistance to investigate Persolve LLC to ensure this doesnt happen to another citizen.
