Consumer Complaint: They are stating that I owe XXXX thats not true. Also I was in contact with the original creditor and on payment arrangements when this debt was place on my credit report. I have never done business with Monterey Financial Services. I do not have a signed contract with Monterey Financial Services. I have a right to demand that Monterey Financial Services furnish the signed contract between them and myself. Also this company is not licensed in the state of Tennessee. I would like this unfounded and unvalidated debt removed form my credit report. Per Tennessee Code TFDCPA 62-20-101 ( short title ) and 105 thru 127, Tenn Law emphatically states that ” a collection service can not commence or conduct the business of collecting debts in Tenn without being so licensed and bonded as well as maintaining a ” location manager ” who in turn is required to be licensed and bonded. in the State of Tennessee. UNLICENSED ACTIVITY IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE POTENTIALLY SUBJECTS THE DEBT COLLECTOR TO CIVIL AND CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
