Consumer Complaint: I called Discover card customer service about an old credit card debt from about 10 years ago. They referred me to XXXX XXXX XXXX and provided the phone number. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX and requested written information on the debt, including payoff. They requested that I fax a signed statement that I was not being represented by an attorney before they would speak to me. I complied. I called again and requested the written information about my debt. They said they would have it to me by the end of the week. They did not. I called again XXXX, they said they would have it to me by XXXX. They did not. I called again and was told they would have it to me by XXXX. They did not. I called again the following XXXX and could never get a person on the line. I called again XXXX and could not get a person on the line. I called Discover card. The Discover Card representative attempted to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX as well, and was unable to reach anyone after a very long hold. So, ultimately, after more than 2 weeks and a multitude of phone calls and requests, I still have no written statement of my debt. In the meantime, there is a lien on my home, and interest continues to build daily ( as I was informed ).
