Product: Other debt

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Consumer Consent Provided to Share Complaint: Consent provided

Consumer Complaint: I am currently under chapter XXXX Bankruptcy proceedings, which was filed on last XX/XX/XXXX. I had included a debt from XXXX XXXX XXXX TV programming in the amount of {$350.00} and had the Bankruptcy court notify them and their collections agencies at the time via The Court proper channels. But out of the blue on XX/XX/XXXX I received an email to my private personal email account without my authorization from Stellar Recovery, INC. demanding payment for such account. After immediately contacting them and explaining that they were trying to collect on an account that was already included in chapter XXXX US Bankruptcy court and had no business collecting on, I was assured in writing by one of their employees that ” they will remove ” all of the negative information from the credit bureaus. Today is the XX/XX/XXXX, a month later and nothing has been updated with the credit bureaus as of just yet. What is more infuriating is the fact that this collection agency, went as far as reporting this to the credit bureaus as a new account altogether on XX/XX/XXXX in total violation of the US Bankruptcy Court, and this was without waiting from a response from me personally, which by law it should had been 30 days after receiving notification from them.
