Product: Other debt
Issue: Written notification about debt
Consumer Consent Provided to Share Complaint: Consent provided
Consumer Complaint: I received a notification from XXXX XXXX XXXX on a past due XXXX bill from XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I immediately disputed the validity of this debt and they sent me back a copy of a bill dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX showing a balance.
This is in no way a validation of the debt as it does not show whether or not the debt was paid or not.
Further more the company put a collection account against my credit which is currently reporting on my credit file and has been showing an active open collection although this account is and has been in dispute. It is my understanding that this ca n’t happen until the debt is proven to be valid.
I have called them and sent to date 3 different emails to try and resolve this matter with zero response back.
