Consumer Complaint: This complaint is in regards to my old Citibank Credit Card debt, which was turned over to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I had been paying XXXX {$140.00} per month to pay down this debt.

On XXXX XXXX, 2017, my bank ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, MA XXXX ) sent a check to Citibank in the amount of {$2700.00}. This check should have gone to XXXX to pay off this debt in full. This check was cashed, however, by Citibank and not forwarded to XXXX. Citibank contacted by mail, XXXX XXXX XXXX, stating they needed more information regarding who the check belonged to, etc., and sent them a copy of the cashed check. XXXX tried to fix this situation and submitted the info. they requested. XXXX never heard back from them, after repeatedly trying to contact them. I also tried calling, mailing and faxing Citibank SEVERAL times, as no one I spoke to seemed to know the telephone number of the Citibank Payment Investigation Department.

I have contacted XXXX ( XXXX XXXX at XXXX ) and explained to him the situation, that Citibank cashed the check, which should have gone to them. He was very understanding, however, they would like to receive their payment, in full. This has impacted my credit score, as well.
