Consumer Complaint: I have been getting phone calls by various locations several times a day back to back to back. I do n’t answer random numbers so I blocked some and just let others ring for weeks. After about two months i decided to answer it and it was my Bank ( Bank Of America ) calling from an automated line and I was furious after finding out that it was an automated line blowing up my phone for months. This was a call to collect a debt. I was so confused what I was in debt for so I called the number they gave me. I ‘m always so scared to fall behind on my credit card which is why I set up automatic payments to come straight out of my XXXX debit card to pay my BOA credit card. So I decided to call and after waiting on hold for 10 mins they had told me that my credit card is almost {$700.00} past due. How is this possible when my credit card limit is only {$500.00}. I should have only only had about a {$200.00} balance on this card. They never told me that those automatic payments expire after a year. They had all the wrong information in there system. They had the wrong address so I was not getting the statements to be warned I was missing payments. The lady I spoke with had told me I can have these late fees waived and I said yes absolutely, however i would have to pay the initial {$200.00} balance before waiving the fees. I paid the balance off and updated my info in the system and she said I would get my new statement in about a week. I finally got it today which was about three weeks later and it still says I owe {$350.00}. Futhermore they set up my automatic payments again to start paying for the late charges. The fees were never waived and I dont think it is very fair that I owe them this money when I received zero notification of the late fees and the fact that my automatic payments expired. Not to mention in the process of this they revoked this credit card, so I have no credit card anymore and they still expect me to pay these fees when Ive already paid what ive used on the card.
