Consumer Complaint: I consulted my Loan Servicer ( Navient XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX options for civilian Department of Defense employees in XXXX. I was informed that the program required 120 payments and that my existing loan was eligible for forgiveness including various monthly repayment options.

My previous XXXX loans were consolidated in the XXXX at 9 % and I ‘ve repaid over {$90000.00} on an original {$45000.00} principal balance. However, I still owe approximately {$100000.00}.

Navient / XXXX XXXX indicated I was not able to further consolidate my existing loan ( previously consolidated ) and further indicated I was on track for the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX program.

After, six years of qualifying payments while employed with the Department of Defense I checked on the status of my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and was informed that my consolidated loan was NOT eligible for the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX program since it was not a DIRECT loan.

I am now able to CONSOLIDATE my previously-consolidated single loan BUT approximately 6 years of previous payments while employed with the Department of Defense do NOT qualify toward the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX program.

I was continuously misled by Navient / XXXX XXXX and only inquired recently due to news about the XXXX administration ‘s desire to potentially change the plan.
