Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I received a statement dated XX/XX/XXXX from Citi Card saying that I owed a balance from a credit card of {$480.00}. There was no full number on the statement, just the last four digits, no listing of what the charges were for and a P.O. Box listed saying to immediately send in a payment. I had never applied for a card with them. I called a Citi Card rep and she did a search and found that I had no account and told me to forget it. I asked her if she wanted me to send in the statement to the company because of a fraud and she said no. In XX/XX/XXXX, another statement came for a payment of {$480.00} with a due date of XX/XX/XXXX and a balance listed of {$8500.00}. I questioned why I was still getting these statements. XX/XX/XXXX I placed a fraud alert report with the 3 credit agencies. On XX/XX/XXXX, I tried to speak with someone in the Citi Bank Fraud Dept. and had to wait hour even before speaking with anyone. Then, it took @ 45 min before it was decided to connect me the Loan Applications Dept. where I didnt get resolution because I was kept on so long waiting that my cell phone minutes ran low and my battery died. By XX/XX/XXXX. also, Citibank had placed this fraudulent posting onto my credit report ( first XXXX, then the others ), then I experienced repercussions from my credit card companies who began to reduce my credit and my credit score has plummeted very low due to their error. I am still trying to get this resolved. I have been trying to get the mailing address to send in a written complaint.From what I see, the company gave this other person credit privileges starting in XX/XX/XXXX when it would have been impossible for him/her to have due to my circumstances at the time. That is why I want to see the information on the credit application they okd. I filed a police report XXXX XXXX for identity theft. I’ve also gone on line and created an account with identitytheft.gov. I tried during this entire time to get a mailing address to send in my complaint but all Citi Bank has is online telephone numbers. I tried to go through those but couldn’t get a mailing address. On Sat., XX/XX/XXXX I tried again to speak to a rep. ( again taking a long time to connect ), transferred to the Fraud Dept. which never answered and the rep. gave me a general mailing address. It should not take this long to get this resolved. I’ve had the chance to see the reviews from the BBB and other sites. I hope I have a more positive resolution than what I’ve seen.
