Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) was collecting from XXXX Insurance and from me. XXXX paid everything except for the deductible amount which was {$1000.00}. XXXX explained that the fees and loss of rental income were requested as a standard practice but were not paid by the insurance or by me. When XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX contacted me, the representative informed me that their client ( major US car rental agency ) received payment from XXXX but that my payment ( my insurance deductible ) was the only payment outstanding. We discussed the fees and loss of rental income and the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX representative explained the same as the XXXX rep ‘, those fees were not recoverable and their client was happy to let them go. I paid the {$1000.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX ) Today XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, the representative said there was bad news and asked for {$620.00}. The rep ‘ said that amount was outstanding and that I owed. I reminded the rep ‘ that my situation was handled by insurance and that any outstanding balance other than deductible, was paid by my insurance. The XXXX rep ‘ got agitated and loud with me, eventually after shouting for a while, he hung up on me. I called XXXX and they confirmed that everything was paid. They even called XXXX and were told that the account was closed. I believe they are trying to scam me.
