Consumer Complaint: The student loan is with Navient. 18 months ago- in XXXX XXXX 2015 I called Navient as they pushed my payment to over {$700.00} a month which I did not have. I asked them to lower my payment as I could pay them {$500.00} a month. They refused and told me my only option is to go in forbearance until I can make the full payment. They were unwilling to help me even if I offered them money and they did not explain any alternative options to me. They only gave me one choice which was forbearance at a very high percentage interest. This is impossible to ever pay debt if they just charge interest and there is no affordable way to pay it off. After all my expenses in my household I dont even have {$700.00} in cash flow to afford to pay the loan and I dont even have a car or credit card payment. The income driven plan is overpriced and not affordable- seems like it is meant to make customers go in forabaramce so they can collect interest. They dont give consumers any other options.
