Consumer Complaint: I closed my Citibank credit card account in XX/XX/XXXX due to the 2 fraud transactions that resulted in {$1500.00} balance. At the time I closed the account, Id had a merchant ( XXXX ) refund my account {$710.00}, so that left the fraudulent balance on my account to {$780.00}. I was informed by the Citibank associate who helped me close my account that I would not be authorized for the this {$780.00} balance.

Last month XX/XX/XXXX, Citibank asked me to pay for the {$1500.00} that incurred from the fraudulent activities back in XX/XX/XXXX. They told me I was responsible for these transactions before I did not promptly responded to the fraudulent affidavit form Citi bank mailed to my home, which I NEVER received. Nor did I receive any email from Citibank regarding that affidavit form. So I believe Citibank was not being truthful about that and just charged back the amount on my card for their convenience not having to go through the fraudulent claim on my behalf.

I submitted a claim with CFPB 2 weeks ago and Citibank mailed me the affidavit form for the first time. I filed in the form and returned to them in the mail TWICE. Still, my account balance has not been changed ( {$1500.00} ). Citibank acknowledge that there was a refund of {$710.00}. Still, they had not fix the balance on my account at all.
