Consumer Complaint: Did not receive a written document explaining debt from XXXX. Was not notified in order to pay the debt. The account was closed and was not told there was a balance left and was not given the opportunity to settle the debt by phone or letter.
Found out XX/XX/2017 from a collection agency. Once notified I called XXXX in XX/XX/2017 and asked to settle and pay the debt but was told the debt was already with the XXXX XXXX collection agency. I settled the debt with collections but now have the collection account still on my credit report. I need this removed as I was not given written document allowing me to settle the debt with XXXX.
Please remove this collection account with XXXX XXXX. The original creditor is XXXX.
