Consumer Complaint: Recently I logged into my Bank of America portal and I noticed a charge on two separate accounts. One account is business checking account and {$1200.00} was debited on XX/XX/2018, and another account is personal family joint checking account and {$2200.00} was debited on the same date XX/XX/2018. These transactions were initiated by the bank by utilizing what they call ” Setting OFF ” I never heard of this before, but after doing some research it seams that it is legal. However, my business was not doing well due to not being able to get insurance coverage because my drivers got into too many accidents in one year. This had put a screeching hault into my operations. In addition I was in the midst of my divorce and was not able to put 100 % of my time and my mind into running the day to day operations. I was trying to stay afloat, and pay for things that needed immediate attention like vehicle leases, insurance, workers comp. employee salary, as well as roof over my head and food. As you can imagine my surprise when I saw money being withdrawn without my authorization. One of the accounts, the family joint checking account from where {$2400.00} was taken out, is an account which is shared with my brother, and most of that money is not mine to give! I am shocked and in distress because of this. I have been on XXXX for the last 3 months because of my divorce and other issues, and to have this fall on top of my head out of the blue without any formal notice is making me XXXX XXXX. I spoke to Bank of America and told the agent that my XXXX XXXX is up and that this is not the right way to handle this situation. After all, I could have a XXXX XXXX and XXXX. From whom they will get their money then? I asked her if it would be possible to take {$1200.00} for now and give me a chance to catch up to the rest. She had no good reply. I dont know what to do. This is just very XXXX. I am ready to simply give up. Please let me know if you have any answers or solutions fast. Thank you kindly.
