Consumer Complaint: I have tried to file a dispute with XXXX and XXXX for this debt. There are several issues that are incorrect but the debt collector ‘XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ‘ has claimed their information is accurate.
My bankruptcy completed on XX/XX/XXXX and I paid XXXX XXXX XXXX directly on their website with my XXXX credit card. I never received any statements beyond the first one, nor did I ever receive any collections notices because the debt was paid.
As of XX/XX/XXXX a collection account appeared on my credit report saying that it was opened in XX/XX/XXXX, and that I owed 3 times as much as what I originally said directly to the hospital in XX/XX/XXXX. Not only should this debt not have gone to collections because it was already paid off, the hospital apparently sold my debt to collectors that opened a NEGATIVE remark on my report more than a year after my debt was paid. I have disputed twice to have them verify the dates but nothing has been done. If this can not be removed from my report, the least they can do is correct the dates to XX/XX/XXXX instead of XX/XX/XXXX. The collections account is still showing as OPEN on my XXXX report, although it also says discharged w/bankruptcy below that.
Ica n’t do much until housing/vehicle wise until this is straightened out. Please help.
