Consumer Complaint: I was the XXXX of a XXXX XXXX XXXX called XXXX XXXX XXXX. About 4-5 months ago Citi Bank sent a XXXX in the amount of {$1000.00} to my company. As you know all income of a XXXX XXXX XXXX goes to the individual owners.

The debt was a result of an unpaid XXXX credit card obtained in the name of my company by one of my employees. THAT EMPLOYEE PERSONALLY GUARANTEED THE DEBT. Citi Bank has confirmed with me that they have no record of me authorizing said credit card or personally guaranteeing it. In fact, they have no record of me ever doing business with their bank, which is exactly correct. They have told me that payments were consistently made on this card until, at some time, they stopped with a remaining balance. They have no record of me or my company making said payments.

Citi Bank investigated this matter for fraud and said there was none. When I asked them to produce records that I authorized this credit card or that I had personally guaranteed it, they could not.

Citi Bank said they did not pursue the debt from the guarantor since the card was in a company name.

In effect Citi is claiming that regardless of who opens a credit card or guarantees it, if it is in a company name, the company owes it. This is ridiculous on its face.
