Consumer Complaint: I received a bill from XXXX XXXX after an emergency room visit. The amount was over {$600.00} so I started making payments on it, which I have always done in the best. After paying half of it off ( {$150.00} per month ), I received a call from a debt collection agency. I notified them that I had been making payments of {$150.00} each month. They stated they had seen the last payment of {$120.00} on XX/XX/2018 ( which I again had sent in {$150.00} ). I called XXXX XXXX back to find out what was going on and they stated that since I did not set up a ” formal ” payment plan, they had the option of turning my account over to a collection agency. I had to then call the collection agency back to set this up.

I resent that XXXX XXXX went to a collection agency, even though I was paying a good amount each month and I had done this is in the past with no problem. I’m not sure at this point why they would state that they received the payment of {$120.00} when I have been paying {$150.00} each month. This was not necessary to turn me over to a collection agency to damage my credit when I have been paying.
