Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2018 Noticed this debt on my credit report XX/XX/2018 Called XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX and talked to ” XXXX ” where I gave her my phone number, address and date of birth. She pulled up the debt, stated that it was from XXXX XXXX and informed me that the call was being recorded. Great! Since the amount was under 100.00 I asked that the debt could be settled for a 1/3 of the amount and removed from my credit report and written notification of such be mailed to me. Payment today to be done with the debt. She informed me that she was unable to negotiate. I asked to speak to her supervisor. A ” XXXX XXXX ” came on the line. I informed him of my desire to settle the debt, and have it REMOVED from my credit report. I will settle for 1/3rd or 2/3rds of the amount owed and again have WRITTEN notification sent to me about the transaction. XXXX XXXX informed me that they do not send written notification, that I must pay the amount owed immediately or I will be charged more. I asked for a his supervisor, whom he says does not take phone calls. I mention to him that I was familiar with the Fair Debt Practices Law and you can’t not MAIL me information about my debt, nor can the company increase my charges because I initiated a phone call. He was unwilling to change his statements. I asked for a transcript of our conversation and again was denied.
