Consumer Complaint: I attempted to get a personal loan through an online lender called XXXX XXXX. The lender told me I was approved for XXXX and that they would deposit the funds into my bank account and that they needed my verbal password I provided them with the password and they stated that they were going to put a portion of the funds into my amount and that I had the return it in order to get the full amount of the loan. In actuality they called my bank impersonating me and requested credits on my account in the amount of XXXX. When I started to discover this I contacted the banks to stop the credits and was told I would not be liable. And later I contacted Bank of Americas fraud team and they informed me because the verbal password was given I was responsible for paying but the credits they were reversed. Since that time my son s SSI which he receives from his fathers XXXX was taken twice to cover the debt. And we lost our apartment because we use they additional income to help cover our bills. We had to sleep in our car and stay in motels and homeless shelter do to this. This has been devastating for me and my children and now my bank account has been force closed I filed a police and nothing has happened.
