Consumer Complaint: This company had contacted my daughter in laws father as well as the assistant human resource director at my place of employment. I called the number they had left and spoke to a XXXX XXXX XXXX. She stated that there was a civil suit filed against me for a credit card that was taken out in XX/XX/XXXX and that had been charged off and closed in XX/XX/XXXX. Although I had never received anything by mail she stated in order to keep it from going to court I would need to settle on a payment of XXXX that would need paid this month and said she would need to credit card information then and there to keep it from going to court. Feeling pressured to keep it out of court and avoid court fees I agreed and gave my information. After thinking more clearly about it I called and asked if they could send me a copy of the civil complaint. I was transferred to a gentleman by the name of XXXX. I asked for his last name and he refused to give it to me saying he was not obligated to do so. He stated that he could not send me the civil complaint and said that because of the questions I was asking that he felt like I was being coached on what to ask He then stated he would revoke our payment arrangement and would no longer accept it and would just see me in court. He became very rude and hostile and hung up. I called back asking for his last name and again questioned why he would not send me information the the charges. He then hung up again. I called my bank and cancelled my card. The company name was the XXXX XXXX. I am questioning the legitimacy of this company and the call.
