Consumer Complaint: I received a notice of attempting to collect an alleged debt to XXXX XXXX XXXX, by RSI Enterprises , Inc ; XXXX XXXX ; XXXX, A, dated XX/XX/XXXX. This letter arrived in my mailbox at the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX.

It is alleged that I owe an amount of {$10.00} resulting from an alleged service dating back to XX/XX/XXXX.

As per my attached letter to RSI, I was never told of an amount owing, nor was there an invoice furnished, nor a statement ; I am totally perplexed.
I find it unacceptable that RSI accepts an account for collection without making any attempt to verify the validity of said account. I call this shooting in the dark.
As it turns out, someone jumped the gun, in the meantime, and reported me to the credit bureaus. I found out today, that my FICO score of XXXX was ducked by three points down to XXXX ( XXXX ) and XXXX ( XXXX, account 28 years and NEVER been late ), respectively. All that without any communications whatsoever beforehand. Shameful conduct.
Why companies like XXXX XXXX, for example, do not advise their clients before the procedure that there is a co- payment, is totally unclear to me. The way it is now, seemingly, is that a third party ( the provider ) makes a contract with XXXX and the client pays, even though there might not be a contract at all. XXXX XXXX could charge whatever they like and then demand payment, or else. It’s almost like giving them a password to one ‘s bank account.
