Consumer Complaint: Harris and Harris debt collectors tried to reach my son at my phone number on XX/XX/XXXX. My son is on XXXX XXXX with the XXXX XXXX. They made a robo call to our phone number leaving a message that they wanted to speak to our son and have him call their number.
I returned the call, I asked how do I know this was not a scam? She identified herself as Harris and Harris debt collectors and their client is the City of XXXX. She said they were trying to reach XXXX XXXX. They asked if they were speaking to ” XXXX XXXX XXXX. ” I confirmed I was ” XXXX XXXX XXXX. ” She said it was about an unpaid camera red light ticket in XXXX. I asked for the ticket number. She stated she needed to verify my address. I said, ” OK. ” There was silence, then she said she needed my address. Go ahead. She said XXXX XXXX. I said no. She said she would remove my number from the file since it was the wrong address.
Then on XX/XX/XXXX my wife received a live phone call from Harris and Harris after they had said they were removing the number.
It should be noted that on the date that XXXX XXXX was alleged to have run a red light he was in basic training for the XXXX XXXX.
