Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX the end of XX/XX/XXXX about a check cashed at a XXXX in XXXX TX on XX/XX/XXXX. I wrote back and sent the first letter Ceritfied Return receipt mail, I have received the proof they got the letter on XX/XX/XXXX and they sent back a collection letter with a copy of a receipt from the XXXX and some forms I refuse to fill out as they have no right to that information and have not shown proof this is my debt and there is no way in XXXX or Earth that it could be. The signature was a squiggle and unreadable, there was nothing else that showed a name, address, or any identifiable information on the copy they sent and no proof that it could have been mine. I also was in Indiana on that very same date at work, I do not even have a checking account, and I have witnesses that can prove I was nowhere near Texas. I sent a reply and I again asked them to stop all contact, as this was definitely not mine and told them why. But they sent more collection letters, so I sent two more dispute and stop letters to them XX/XX/XXXX telling them why it couldn’t be mine again. I have received one of the two return receipts back on XX/XX/XXXX signed as received on XX/XX/XXXX. I have now received another letter on XX/XX/XXXX stating they will not investigate or acknowledge it is disputed unless I send them my banking information and file an Identity theft form with them, that asks for a lot of personally identifying information. I will not send any of this, as they have not shown me how they came to think this is my debt, they have not shown how they verified this, and I do not have banking information for a checking account to send them anyway. TRS is ignoring the cease and desist dispute letters, and refusing to send the proof that they have verified this is my debt. I want them stopped and this cleared up and to make sure they don’t attach a debt that is not mine to my credit report. I have seen too many complaints on TRS about them misusing the information sent to them also, and I do not want to take that chance, and since they are not following the law I definitely do not trust them.
