Consumer Complaint: We purchased a credit line from a home services provider in the summer of XX/XX/XXXX. We’ve been paying a monthly payment on the loan for almost 1-year. On the morning of Friday, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a phone call from GreenSky Credit & I immediately knew it was time to make a payment on the account. I thanked them for the reminder and made a note to pay it when I went to the office.

1-hour later I received a ” payment confirmation ” that a payment for {$180.00} was made on my behalf, without my authorization or submission of any kind. I immediately went to their website and cancelled the payment. I called them directly & they claimed that bc I cancelled the payment they could not tell what had been done on their end. I informed them that none of that mattered that it was illegal for them AS AN ORGANIZATION to authorize a payment on anyones behalf w/o authorization. If the phone call was recorded then they will know that no one authorized a payment.

I went ahead and filed complaints w/ the BBB & CFPB. I have both emails as proof that an unauthorized payment was made & then I cancelled it. I went ahead and paid the account in full because I NEVER want to do business w/ a company who steals from it’s own customers.
