Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX stating the XXXX was trying to collect a debt of {$440.00} from me. I called Convergent within 30 days of getting the letter, they said they put in a dispute for me since I strongly believed I owed the money. I did not hear anything, nor did I receive anything in the mail. On XX/XX/XXXX I went down to the XXXX store on XXXX XXXX to see if I could get this resolved there, XXXX was helping me. He stated that he could not see anything on my account, only that I owed {$440.00} but could not see what it was for. He called XXXX XXXX and was on the phone with them for about 20-25 mins trying to help me get this resolved. XXXX stated that they could not see anything either as to what the debt was for. He gave me a phone number to call XXXX XXXX at XXXXand stated I had to deal with them. I called as soon as I left the XXXX store, the number he gave me is for Convergent. So I was confused as to why I got their number, but anyways, I was talking with XXXX XXXX on that same day, XX/XX/XXXX, he can not see what the debt is for, just the amount. He put a dispute in for me again. I asked if I needed to submit something in writing to them, he stated no. He told me to call back and 30 days to see what the status is and to check the account. It has not been 30 days but I feel this has been too long already. I would like this resolved.
