Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I noticed {$2200.00} withdrawn from my account. I called my bank and they stated they were not sure what it was but would contact me after they completed an investigation. I called back again the next day and was given another telephone number to call and speak to someone. Upon doing so, I spoke with a representative who said it was a debt set-off from my husbands credit card. We had made multiple attempts to settle with this credit card and were not given a settlement agreement. When we spoke to the law office this debt was sent to, they offered a settlement but never sent payment info. I contacted them to no avail. When speaking with this contact person on the second number I was given, they stated any time they see money available in my checking account they will take this money for the debt owed on the credit card and they are not obligated to inform me prior to doing so. I was never informed of this, never informed of any judgment against my husband, myself or our accounts. I am now unable to pay my mortgage, my car payment, buy groceries and even pay for my toddlers daycare so that I can go to work. I have {$70.00} to my name at this time due to the amount they took from me and are refusing to refund it. I even asked to go on a payment plan and they stated theyll discuss a payment plan for the remaining balance one the {$2200.00} cleared my checking account.
