Consumer Complaint: I made a payment to Wells Fargo for a personal loan that I took out. The check I made the payment with was more then the amount owed including interest. There was any over payment of roughly {$700.00}. When I call the bank regarding the check, I was told that the amount was paid in full to the cent with no over payment. This is a blatant attempt to steal money from their customer. When I requested they refund my money as soon as possible, I was told they would need to investigate this even though I have the receipt showing the amount that was paid as I made the payment at a branch. They should refund the money once the receipt was provided without having to do any investigation taking up to 7 days. We both know what the amount owed is, I have the receipt which shows proof of payment and the over payment. This should be easily resolve and yet they are going to take 7 days. Seem they are eager to steal more money from their consumer and want that 7 day to figure out a way to do that.
