Consumer Complaint: I have been dealing with Sallie Mae, now Navient, for the past 14 years regarding repayments. They have forced me to refinance at higher rates than the supposed fixed rates that I borrowed at. They have also reported me to multiple collection agencies for the same loan that went into default. I finally settled with one company and paid it back for a lesser amount in total. Now they have sent that same loan that I settled to another debt collection agency and they’re trying to extort more money out of me. I am current on all other loans with Navient.
