Consumer Complaint: I am connected to CFPB complaint number XXXX, filed by XXXX XXXX XXXX, an issue concerning an incomplete lease contract for which I was the guarantor. The apartment community, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL, contacted the guarantee and told her that she had not completed a full lease and needed to sign a final copy of the lease in order for it to be complete and to be able to move in ( there is a voicemail and screenshot of the day the call was received attached ). Having been told by property management themselves that she never finished a required portion of the lease to be liable, she never moved in, nor did she receive keys to the property.
However, XXXX XXXX XXXX falsely reported to the creditor, XXXX XXXX XXXX, that we had signed a full lease and were liable for the entirety of the rent, a claim the guarantee, XXXX XXXX was able to dispute with Transunion and get completely removed from her credit history. As the would-be guarantor and after filing a dispute over the same issue, Transunion would not remove this very same issue from my credit report. The claims were unfounded, and again, it is the exact same claim that was disputed and ultimately removed from the guarantees credit history. I am asking that Transunion remove this false charge from my credit history, since the other claimant involved in this dispute was successfully able to do so after being found not liable for the amount the property falsely reported to the creditor. The claim the property made was deemed unfounded by Transunion and the guarantee was found to owe nothing to the property, as should be the case for myself as the guarantor as well. The Transunion dispute number for XXXX XXXX is XXXX, and the notification sent from Transunion that the charge had been removed is also attached.
