Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Consumer Consent Provided to Share Complaint: Consent provided

Consumer Complaint: I have received multiple harassing phone calls and received a collection letter by mail regarding a debt that does not belong to me. I have properly notified Nathan & Nathan on multiple occasions that my name & social security number need to be removed from the file because it does not belong to me. The collection account in question is not mine, does not and could not belong to me. A person who shares the same name and used to live in the same city as I is the one to whom this debt belongs. This is not the first agency to inaccurately and egregiously link information from my credit report to a completely different person. These inaccurately attributed collection accounts have the potential to cause financial harm. Nathan & Nathan has failed to respond. Nathan & Nathan has failed to remove my information from this account. Should this matter not be resolved with immediacy, I will pursue legal action to ensure that I remain whole, plus damages, in this matter.
