Consumer Complaint: I am currently paying almost {$800.00} a month for my loans and after asking around found out that is pretty high. Most people I know with loans aren’t paying more than {$300.00} a month. I had no problem paying that amount until I just got a new car with a {$300.00} dollar monthly payment that will make it impossible for me to afford all my expenses. When I called Navient to have it lowered they said my co-signer should help pay for it. I told them he won’t and shouldn’t and that I tried to get him removed but they gave me very vague reasons why he couldn’t be removed. One of the reasons after I asked for more details is because my income is not sufficient enough to afford the monthly payments. So I don’t know why they wouldn’t mean the payments should be lowered as then I could have the sufficient income. Online I was under the impression I had to fill out the co-signer form AFTER 12 consecutive months of paying and after giving it to them they said I was suppose to fill out the form, that was going to get rejected regardless, THEN wait 12 more months of consecutive payments. Which would not matter after 12 months because I did that already and they still said I have insufficient income. I need help getting this outrageous amount lowered or I will barely get by as my monthly income is good but with all my other expenses I have I will have nothing left over to start saving. Please help!!!!!!!
