Consumer Complaint: I received a phone call from a telemarketer stating that they were able to help me with my student loans. Because I have been trying to get rid of them I willingly listened and was then transferred over to AmeriTech Financial. The associate, XXXX XXXX came on the line and explained that they helped with reduction and with loan forgiveness of student loans. I know about the forgiveness of loans program and have been trying to get involved with it for quite a while now.

He had me on the phone for over an hour and all the information that he gave me was improper, though he continued to state that he was on the federal government site and this is what they had for me.

He sent me a disclosure form to sign so that he could look at my information on the Government Database and asked me to read off the 6 digit number that he sent to me so he could look at my info on the federal government site. No where in his disclosure does he state that he is accessing my personal account with Navient and changing my information on that account.

After I was off the phone with him, I received an email from XXXX that my username and password was changed. I never gave AmeriTech Financial permission to pull up my XXXX account or change my username or password. I never gave AmeriTech Financial my user name for my XXXX Account and only read them off a 6 digit number that they advised over the phone would give them access to look at my info online and that was me giving them permission to look at the national database.

I did call the company back as I was upset that I spent all the time I spent on the phone with them for him to want to increase my loan by an additional 10 years so that I can receive a reduced payment of {$70.00} and have $ XXXX off the total of the loan. I complained to a manager who had a solution of putting me on the DO NOT CALL list and that what they do is perfectly fine and many people have many positive solutions, I just didnt have one with them because of my situation.
