Consumer Complaint: Synchrony Bank was the original account holder for a fraudulent account that was opened in my name. The account was turned over to XXXX XXXX for collection. I have an account with XXXX XXXX listed on my XXXX and XXXX Credit Reports in the amount of {$1300.00}. Both credit bureaus have refused to remove the account from my credit reports. I have disputed this item and will continue to dispute this item until it is removed from my credit reports.

I contacted both credit bureaus on XX/XX/XXXX and disputed this item yet again and while both credit bureaus have complied with filing the dispute they informed me that they have verified that this is my account. I contacted XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and they referred me to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX as it pertains to this account. I did contact XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX by phone and they were closed. I also sent them an email as well on XX/XX/XXXX.

I received a letter from Synchrony Bank Fraud Dept. dated XX/XX/XXXX that the company verified that this is not my account and that this account was indeed a fraudulent account that was opened in my name.
I do not understand how I can have a valid letter from the company and yet this item still remains on my credit reports even though the company has verified that the account does not belong to me and was a fraudulent account. Synchrony Bank informed that they sent electronic letters to both XXXX and XXXX telling them to remove this item from my credit reports ASAP and yet it remains.

XX/XX/XXXX will be two months and according to the letter I received from Synchrony Bank it can take up to 30 days or 4-6 weeks. Well as of XX/XX/XXXX it will be 4-6 weeks and this item has not been removed from my credit reports as of yet. The letter sent to me by Synchrony Bank was dated XX/XX/XXXX.
