Consumer Complaint: I have sent a debt validation notices to the creditor and only receive a verification of the debt instead of a validation of the debt. As per FCRA, a creditor is supposed to respond with the original creditors name, address, and account number and not report to the credit bureaus nor attempt to collect until they have responded.
However, the creditor did not send the required information and is still reporting to the credit bureaus, which is in violation of the FCRA. My next step is to contact a consumer protection attorney unless the matter is resolved here.
