Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 A letter sent to me from XXXX XXXX XXXX a collection agency.

regarding breach of lease agreement in the amount of XXXX I was a cosigner for my daughter on a lease for a rental. She had paid all her rent owed every month. When she left we cleaned the space and a couple weeks later the landlord sent a letter of damages due minus the security deposit. He sent it with several invoices from companies to perform work of said damages. these were only estimates not paid work that was done. The charges were from everything from gardener picking up dog feces to a charge for the entire property being pressure washed. Approx 3000 square feet. her rental space was an attached two bedroom granny flat to the primary home.

and other charges for repairs for his property that have nothing to do with the rental space. When I called the collection agency they informed me it was filed by a third party and that I needed to reach out to the person listed as the creditor. Which is the landlord, I called him several times and he has not returned my phone calls. I have sent a certified letter to both the creditor and collections agency that I strongly dispute this action. How can a landlord turn a renter into collection for made up charges for repairs to his property that he has not even paid for himself and these charges are false …
