Consumer Complaint: I dont use credit cards and have a 800+ credit score. I decided to get a XXXX XXXX credit card from Citi. In two weeks, the card was compromised. The account was closed down and it also closed out my membership with XXXX. I had to spend hours fixing the XXXX membership issue with new cards, etc. The credit card company failed to send a new card. Then they began calling me incessantly for {$3.00} outstanding on the credit card. This was the result of interest. I explained that the card was compromised and that I repaid the balance. I never received a card so they kept increasing the charges. I spoke with an individual in customer service who closed out the account in XXXX ( at my request ) and when I prompted them to understand if there was an outstanding balance, they advised me there was no balance. Citi then sent me another card and began INCESSANTLY calling me for an outstanding balance. I called Citi one more time and advised them I would not pay {$3.00} for their error for not closing the account properly and they threatened me to charge late payments, etc. I told them this was insane and a hassle because I wanted the account closed. I will not pay this outstanding amount. Citi is calling at least three times a day and its all just automated prompts with massive wait times. This is harassment and it needs to be resolved. AGAIN, I dont use credit cards. I am an adult with excellent credit, long term job stability and significant deposits in the bank. Now, they keep sending me emails. No one thinks in this company. Its downright pathetic.
