Consumer Complaint: Company contacted me. I asked them first to send me verification of the debt. They advised they would email it to me. I never received an email and checked my spam daily to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
They called back and said somehow they forgot to send. I waited again and did not receive an email. Gentleman called back and accused me of lying and not wanting to pay the debt. I advised him that I simply wanted verification of the debt and his company ‘s legal entitlement to collect the debt, as it was not on my credit report.
I then asked for his name and mailing address so I could send a request for debt verification in writing. He refused to give it, kept talking over me and not addressing my request for this information. He then threatened to garnish my wages for the full debt amount and not the offered settlement amount. He became irate and very combative like nothing I had ever experienced before.
