Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX located in XXXX, WA claims that I owe a debt of {$120.00}, and the original debtor is XXXX. I sent a letter of dispute via certified mail to Convergent on XX/XX/2018, it was signed for on XX/XX/2018. I requested that this debt be validated by way of a legally binding contract bearing my signature. Convergent responded claiming that the debt is verified, and sent a phone bill. As per FTC opinion letter from Attorney XXXX XXXX XXXX, they should be aware that a printout of a bill or itemized document does NOT constitute verification.
I sent a second letter via certified mail, which was received and signed for on XX/XX/2018. Today is XX/XX/2018, and Convergent still has not responded with competent evidence BEARING MY SIGNATURE. This is a violation of FCRA & FDCPA. It is evident that this company can not validate the alleged debt, and therefore the entry needs to be requested for deletion by the credit agencies.
