Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX – I applied for FAFSA school loan. I was denied the school loan due to derogatory reporting on my credit report. I discovered Alpine Credit Inc ( also known as XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX ), had placed derogatory information on my credit report. The collection was reported to the credit bureaus sometime in XX/XX/XXXX, to which I was never informed of this debt nor did I know anything about it. The debt was reported as a medical debt with the credit bureaus. I immediately contacted Alpine Credit on the same day I discovered they had placed derogatory information on my credit ( XXXX XXXX ) by being denied a school loan. When I contacted Alpine Credit I was informed by the woman I spoke to ( she is an account manager ) that they where trying to collect for a waterscape company and not a medical bill. That it was reported incorrectly to the credit bureaus as medical collection. During that same phone conversation the woman informed me that it was too late to fight it or dispute the derogatory reporting on my credit report or have it removed because the 30 days I had to dispute had passed. I expressed to her that it was important I obtain the school loan for Spring of XX/XX/XXXX and how can I resolve the issue quickly. She informed me that since I did not dispute the derogatory reporting on my credit that they would be filing a lawsuit and once its filed and attend court that at that time I can THEN give my side of the story. She did not want to hear what took place nor any details about the situation nor that at did not own this company money. She said I was out of her hands and at their lawyers desk. I was never given the opportunity to explained to her what took place. She never gave me the opportunity and she did not want to know about any details. The woman I spoke to asked me to call back in a couple of weeks to find out if lawsuit had been filed. I called a few weeks later and she informed me that the lawsuit was filed with XXXX County courts and I would be served soon. A month went by and I had not been served. I called the county courts, they said there was no docket number as of that date. I called the woman a few weeks later to find out the status of the collection. She had no further information and transferred me to XXXX XXXX CEO, who was very rude, threatening and extremely unhappy I was being proactive in trying to resolve the issue. He stated he had never heard of anyone trying to find out when they are going to be sued and served documents. I informed him that I wanted to resolve this issue as soon as possible, and that I was being proactive. He became very upset with me and stated that I was being placed on a list that would no longer accept my phone calls and that they will not send me proof of the debt. I confirmed with him during that phone conversation that he was refusing to provide proof of debt, and that he was refusing to assist me in the collection his company has against me. He refused to answer and he hung up on me. I have not made contact with the Alpine Credit directly or with any of their representatives of the company since that day. 5 months later, on XX/XX/XXXX received lawsuit documents.


Additional Details : The amount of {$7600.00} is what shows as a current balance on my credit reports but the original charge is for {$5600.00} for a non-contractual work that was in exchange for XXXX fish that have an approximate value of {$35000.00}. The {$1900.00} difference is for collection company fees. The owner took more than 109 high value XXXX fish both butterfly and non butterfly from the XXXX pond located on my personal property on XX/XX/XXXX. The collection states that I opened an account with the XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, CO, more than a year later after taking the XXXX fish on XX/XX/XXXX. I never applied for credit with his company, I had no reason for that, nor did I sign any contracts for work on the property and he never paid me for the any of the XXXX fish he took. The manager of Alpine Credit has acknowledged in writing that there is no signed contract for the collection they are attempting to collect on.
