Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX From XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ext. XXXX, representing XXXX XXXX, XXXX. sent me a written agreement to pay a charged off XXXX credit card. The settlement amount was {$2900.00}. The amount was to be paid making monthly payments that started on XX/XX/XXXX. I have made every monthly payment since beginning this agreement. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX ext. XXXX, called claiming the ” verification of employment was now scheduled ”. When I returned his call I was informed that he was now collecting on the original XXXX account. He said he too worked for XXXX XXXX, XXXX and claimed I had not made any payments. After further conversation he said he was mistaken, I had only missed the XX/XX/XXXX payment. I had proof that I made that and all payments to XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX. He then told me that my current balance with XXXX was over {$3000.00}, which is more that the settlement amount that XXXX XXXX had given me in writing. He went on to explain that he ” may ” be able to get me the same settlement amount but needed to know when I could pay the balance because this might help my case. I told him that his information was incorrect and that he needed to get everything in writing and send it to me. I have not received anything yet and do not want a lawsuit because of unlawful debt collection practices.
